Welcome and thank you for choosing Advanced Optometry of Mission Viejo!
Whether this is your first time at the eye doctors, or you’ve been coming your whole life – here is a little about what you can expect from your vision exam at Advanced Optometry:
1. Upon entering our office, you will be checked in with one of our state-of-the-art iPads. If you have been here before, your information will be saved and you just need to update anything that has changed.
2. After you are checked in, one of our friendly technicians will bring you in to begin your evaluation. Prior to seeing the doctors, our technicians preform several preliminary tests that help focus your examination. They will check the curve of the front of your eye, your depth perception, color vision, eye pressure, capture your retinal imaging and test your peripheral (aka side) vision.
3. Once preliminary testing is completed, you will meet with one of our experienced doctors. During this part of the visit, your prescription will be determined based in your own unique needs, expectations and job requirements. In addition, the overall health of your eye and your entire visual system will also be assessed. Our doctors will then recommend specific glasses and/or treatment plans based on the findings of your exam.
4. After you prescription has been finalized, you will meet with our skilled optician to find the perfect pair of glasses and lenses for you!
5. Contact lens evaluations and other specialty services such as dry eye evaluations and myopia control are also available at our office.
